Day one post op

Jack is home, he had his surgery yesterday, the vet said everything went well.  She is sending his leg in for pathology.  Jack spent a couple hours in surgery yesterday, and spent the night at the after hours clinic.  We Visited him at midnight and he was still pretty out of it from the pain meds. When I came back to see him this morning he tried to get up to see me.  the vet tech and I were able to help him take a few steps. Jack was discharged at 230 this afternoon, and is now recovering at home.   He has a catheter in and is pretty sore and tired, but seems much more at ease at home with his people. hopefully we can do a little more moving around later on tonight.

  1. Hey Jack, congrats to you on making it through surgery! I know this time isn’t the best but you’ll recover and get back to your old self real soon. Don’t try to do too much too soon though, you’ll have plenty of time for fun when you’re all healed up and not seeing pink elephants. Get well soon!

  2. YAAAAAAAAAY JACK! Jack is home and all is well! It’s still gonna’ be rough for several more days and nights possibly! So sleep when Jack sleeps if you can!

He’s an adorable pup and I can see why he’s captured your heart. Love his little lamb he has by his side…..so cute!

You really will be amazed at how well he will get around one he gets his balance, etc. And once he’s recovered from the major surgerymand starts to get his sparkle back……ohhhhh my! You will be so happy and all this will be worth it! The bond you already have will, believe it or not, even grow stronger! Every second you can spoil and love Jack will give you some woderful “forever” memories…as well as non-sto tail wags from Jack!

Hang in there and keep us posted….especially first poo and first pee! We celebrate anything around here:-) 🙂

    Hugs to you and Jack!

  3. Hi Jack!

Get lots of rest so you can make a great recovery. I’ll bet you are glad to be home!

Tell your human family to get rest too as the next couple of weeks can be a little sleepless!

    Take care.
